My Roots
From A Young Age I Have Been A Maker And An Artist. I Started Drawing Before I Could Walk And Ever Since Have Been Creating. As A Colorado Native, I Was Instilled With A Deep Appreciation Of My Home State And Grew Up Loving The Outdoors. Wildlife And Art Have Always Been Part Of My Life; My Work Is A Marriage Of The Two. I Have A Small Studio In My Home With A Wheel, A Kiln, And A Bundle Of Art Supplies.
After Throwing All Of My Pieces, I Hand Paint The Imagery, And Then Add The Outlines. The Outlines Are Made With An Ancient Japanese Technique Called Mishima Which Is Carving With Paint Inlay. After The Pieces Are Dry I Then Fire And Glaze. The Whole Process Can Take Days To Complete, But The Unique Quality Of Each Piece Is Worth The Time And Energy. |
